The company’s flagship SUV is amazing in so many aspects and it is still considered a class leader, despite that many new models arrived meanwhile. However, the competition is getting tougher every year, as rivals are coming better and better. The all-new Escalade is a perfect example. So, it’s no wonder that the luxury brand of the Blue Oval company is about to come with both novelties in the near future. According to the latest reports, we are about to see 2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV.

The all-electric version will be based on the current model. Still, we count on all kinds of modifications, not just in terms of the powertrain, but also in terms of the rest of mechanics, as well as in terms of aesthetics. At this point, we are still waiting for all the details. Still, some of the things seem pretty clear already, starting from the drivetrain.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV Specs

Of course, the most interesting aspect of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV will be its drivetrain and this is also the aspect that seems pretty clear. You’ve probably heard that Ford has invested a lot of money in a startup company called Rivian, which eventually developed two pretty capable machines, R1S and R1T. Without any doubt, the new 2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV will use the same drivetrain, or slightly modified.

This could easily mean three variants in the offer, with different battery packages. As you probably know, Rivian models are available with three different batteries, with a capacity of either  105, 135, or 180 kWh. Along with different battery packages, you may count on different output variants. Base models will feature a max output of around 400 horsepower. On the other side, the most powerful versions are expected to be good for about 750 horsepower. Therefore, expectations in terms of performances are huge. We presume that the most capable version would be able to hit 60 mph in about 3 seconds.

When it comes to the range, models with the biggest battery packages should be able to make more than  400 miles on a single charge.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV Design

In terms of base design characteristics, we don’t expect to see particular changes. When it comes to mechanics, this model will also ride on a familiar but slightly modified T3 platform. We expect to see the long-wheelbase version in the offer as well. In terms of the styling, the overall shape will definitely remain the same, though we count on details that emphasize the model’s all-electric character. The same thing goes for interior design. We expect to see slight revisions on the dashboard, but overall the same look.

Will The Battery Pack Affect Interior Space and Comfort

Battery storages require space, which means the cabin might be a little bit tighter compared to gasoline models. However, keep in mind that the battery will be placed under the floor in this case. So, cuts will probably be minimal. In any case, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV will be very comfortable, considering that the standard gasoline model is extremely generous in terms of legroom and overall interior space. While the first row offers an impressive 43.9 inches of legroom, the second one is also amazing, with 42.6 inches in legroom. Finally, there is the third row, which offers unbelievable 40.9 inches of legroom. This is something you won’t find in any other SUV on the market.

Things are equally impressive in terms of cargo volume. The gasoline model offers more than 20 cubic feet behind the third row, while the overall capacity goes up to 103.4 cubic feet. These numbers are even more impressive in the long-wheelbase model. It offers more than 36 cubic feet behind the third row and more than 120 cubic feet of the overall cargo space.

Features

Of course, the new 2022 Lincoln Navigator Electric SUV will come with a full load of standard equipment. The current model is already impressive in this aspect, but we might see a couple of additions for this occasion. Currently, the list of standard equipment includes things like a 10-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, six USB ports, satellite radio, a 14-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless device charging. In higher trims, you can get things like a 20-speaker stereo, a rear-seat entertainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Things are also pretty impressive in terms of safety features. All models come standard with a pre-collision warning and braking system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and lane keep assist. Additionally, you can get a parallel and perpendicular park assist system, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view parking camera system.
