The Bavarian flagship SUV has been around for a while and it looks like it’s time for an update. Allegedly, the next year will bring a mid-cycle refresh. For this occasion, we expect to see typical updates, mostly in terms of styling. Other sources suggest we could finally see a genuine M version, which would come as the 2022 BMW X7 M. At this point, we are still waiting for the official confirmation.
Currently, the X7 comes in an ultra hi-performance Alpina version but somehow, we are missing the classic “M” badge. Of course, there is the M50i version in the offer but it misses some of the key features. Therefore, we have no doubt that many enthusiasts are hoping that this version will finally happen. As we already mentioned, the officials are still quiet about this model, so take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.
2022 BMW X7 M Design
As we already mentioned, the next year’s model is about to come with updates. These changes will affect all models in the lineup, including the possibly upcoming 2022 BMW X7 M. At this point, we can see a test mule that wears a bit of camouflage, particularly at the front. From what we can see, the grille won’t become any bigger and we certainly won’t see that disastrous grille found M3 and M4 models. Instead, Bavarian designers will focus on headlights and bumper this time.
Of course, the 2022 BMW X7 M would come with typical upgrades from the M department. The Bavarian performance division brings a variety of upgrades, starting from tuned suspension, sports differentials, brakes and similar things. Also, you may count on a unique styling treatment, which brings unique bumpers, wheels and similar things.
Of course, the 2022 BMW X7 M would come with interior upgrades as well. Besides typical M badges, we would see a unique steering wheel and sporty seats, with more side support compared to standard seats. Of course, exclusive color schemes are a certain thing.
However, the overall layout will certainly remain the same. This SUV features impressive interior quality, full of quality materials and excellent build quality. Most BMW lovers like the fact that this cabin remains a little bit conservative and relies on classic design solutions. That’s something you won’t get from rivals like Mercedes-Benz GLS, which looks too futuristic for an average conservative driver.
Naturally, this model will continue with all the practicality that the standard model offers. You may count on three spacious rows of seats, which accommodate adults with ease. Also, the cargo area offers some pretty decent numbers for the class. You may count on about 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row, 48.6 behind the second and the total volume of 90.4 cubic feet.
We have no doubt that the 2022 BMW X7 M would come with a full load of standard equipment. This would include things like leather upholstery, massaging seats, heated seats, heated armrest and heated steering wheel. Furthermore, the list of standard equipment should include tech goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, HD Radio, satellite radio, two USB ports, navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic moonroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, remote start, proximity keyless entry, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener.
When it comes to safety, we count on goodies like adaptive headlights, automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, speed limit recognition, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers and many more.
2022 BMW X7 M Engine
Under the hood, there is no doubt that the 2022 BMW X7 M would come with a well-known 4.4-liter V8. Compared to the Alpina XB7 model, it would come slightly detuned. Instead of 617 horsepower, we would rather see a 591-hp version of the engine, the same one the powers the X5 M model. Of course, the acceleration by itself wouldn’t be much slower compared to the Alpina model. You may count on a little bit over four seconds when it comes to the 0-60 time.
Of course, you shouldn’t count on some spectacular ratings when it comes to fuel economy. This model would probably return around 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
2022 BMW X7 M Release Date and Price
We presume that the 2022 BMW X7 M would hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. When it comes to the price, something like 120.000 dollars would be expected.
