The Aviator is finally here, after months after years of rumors and speculations. From what we can see on the initial model, it looks like the Blue Oval company did a great job with this model. It is powerful, luxurious and well equipped, but also very spacious and functional. This makes it great for the car enthusiasts who prefer dynamic ride and those family-oriented drivers, who appreciate spacious seats, large cargo area etc. Given that we are talking about a completely new model, there’s no doubt that the 2021 Lincoln Aviator will carry on in the same way.
We don’t expect to see changes for the next year, at least not more important ones. The next-year model is expected to come with the same design, which has been introduced recently. This means you may count on the same stylish crossover, with attractive and well-equipped interior and powerful engines. It should go on sale in the last quarter of 2020.
How Spacious Is 2021 Lincoln Aviator?
When it comes to the premium segment, mid-size crossovers usually aren’t very practical. In many cases, the third row is not a part of standard equipment or isn’t available at all. This model is quite the opposite. It combines luxury and opulence with practicality. So, you may count on two pretty spacious rows of seats, while the third one is functional as well. Of course, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator interior won’t change in this aspect.
In numbers, this means you get more than 119 inches between the axles, which clearly indicates that the Aviator is spacious and comfortable. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the front seats feature 43 inches of legroom, while the second one is good for 40.1 inches. The third row is typically tight for the class. There are 29.2 inches of legroom. That is enough to be functional, but definitely not enough to ensure the desired level of comfort on longer journeys.
Another benefit from such a long wheelbase and the overall size is the large cargo area. You may count on more than 18 cubic feet behind the third row. Fold them down and you get almost 42 cubic feet. The overall cargo space goes up to nearly 78 cubic feet. These are numbers you’ll hardly get in other mid-size luxury crossovers. One of the rare models that can compete for these numbers is Volvo XC90.
Styling and Interior Design
In this aspect, we are pretty sure that Lincoln Aviator 2021 won’t feature any particular change. We are about to see the same design, which relies on the brand’s latest design language, which means a styling that closely resembles the flagship Navigator. This particularly refers to the front face, which comes with the same grille and headlights design. On the other side, the overall shape is a little bit sleeker, which seems typical for a crossover.
On the inside, this crossover offers plenty of luxury. The dashboard looks very opulent, with attractive shapes and lines, as well as with hi-quality materials. Also, we like the fact that there’s plenty of tech features, which make this cabin look even better.
2021 Lincoln Aviator Features
When it comes to standard equipment, the first thing that comes to mind is a large 10.1-inch touchscreen. Moreover, there is another 5.8-inch touchscreen in the second row, for audio and climate control, which is also standard. Other than these two screens, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator also comes standard with tri-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10-speaker audio system, and satellite radio. Additionally, you can get things like panoramic sunroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, a 14-speaker Revel audio system or even 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system, HD Radio, navigation and many more things.
When it comes to safety, all models are equipped with a rearview camera, MyKey, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist. In higher trims, you can also get more advanced features like surround-view parking camera system, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, evasive steering assist, parallel and perpendicular park assist, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive bending headlights and more.
Keep in mind that this is a list for the 2020 model year. The 2021 Lincoln Aviator may come with some tweaks, though we don’t expect anything significant.
2021 Lincoln Aviator Engines
We definitely don’t expect to see changes in this aspect. Base models will carry on with a 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine, which is good for about 400 horsepower. The 2021 Lincoln Aviator Plug-In Hybrid is based on the same engine but gets significant help from electric motors. So, the total output goes up to 495 horsepower and impressive 630 pound-feet of torque.
2021 Lincoln Aviator Release Date and Price
Given the fact that we won’t see more important changes, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator release date should be scheduled for the end of 2020. When it comes to the price, base versions should go around 52.000 dollars.
